Meet Oral Surgeon Dr. Solon Kao
Dr. Kao is a diplomate for American board of Oral and maxillofacial surgery as well as American Dental society of anesthesiology. Currently, he is a vice chair and clinical associate professor of Oral and maxillofacial surgery at UMKC school of Dentistry, Kansas City, MO. He has a strong interest in identifying patient quality of life and how to improve their quality of life through oral health. He is a well-rounded surgeon with a comprehensive scope of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery with specific expertise and keen interest in dental implant surgery since 2005. Prior to arriving Kansas City in 2018, Dr. Kao has been an excellent professor at Augusta University in Georgia where he was very popular among dental students and patients where he provided compassionate teaching and care in the classroom and school clinics. Besides clinical practices, He is also an excellent lecturer where he was invited to lecture at Midwestern dental conference, Georgia Dental Association (GDA), Hinman Dental Meeting, Wisconsin Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, California dental association and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (AAOMS) Meeting. Furthermore, he has been lecturing internationally on Dental Implantology. He is a member of MDA, American Dental Association (ADA), AAOMS, served as the Sectional Director for Governmental Affair for Georgia Society of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery (GSOMS), and was the AAOMS alternate delegate for GSOMS prior coming to Kansas City. He has received numerous teaching awards at Augusta University and UMKC School of Dentistry including the distinguished faculty award by International College of Dentistry.
